Google Cloud Services Face Major Outage in Europe, Disrupting Banks and More

LONDON: Multiple Google Cloud services are currently experiencing significant network disruptions at its European data center in London, as reported by the tech giant on its service health website. The incident, which began at 06:08 GMT on Tuesday, has led to elevated errors and intermittent failures affecting various sectors.

British digital bank Revolut confirmed that it is facing disruptions to multiple services, attributing the issues to the ongoing Google Cloud outage. A spokesperson for Revolut stated, “We are working to fix the issue since it was identified” and reassured customers that their money and data remain safe.

Internet service tracker Downdetector has reported hundreds of complaints from users experiencing problems with UK lenders such as Lloyds Bank and HSBC, along with disruptions affecting property website Rightmove and postal service Royal Mail. This outage raises concerns about the reliability of cloud services that many businesses and consumers depend on for daily operations.

As Google works to resolve the issue, further updates are expected. The company has not yet provided a timeline for when services will be fully restored, leaving many users anxious about the impact on their transactions and communications.
