NITB Integrates Raast and Digital Payments Across Government Platforms

ISLAMABAD: The National Information Technology Board (NITB) is set to enhance public service delivery by integrating digital payments and Raast services into various government platforms. This initiative aims to streamline the payment process for utility bills, taxes, and service fees, making transactions more efficient for citizens.

NITB officials announced that the integration will cover a wide range of payments, including those for licensing, certificates, and applications. This move is expected to significantly reduce the bureaucratic hurdles associated with traditional payment methods. An NITB spokesperson stated, “This initiative will not only modernize our payment systems but also promote transparency and ease of access for the public.”

The broader implications of this integration are substantial. By facilitating electronic payments, the government aims to enhance financial inclusion and encourage more citizens to engage with digital services. This could lead to increased revenue collection and a more efficient public service sector, ultimately benefiting the economy.

Looking ahead, NITB plans to roll out the integrated payment systems in phases, with the first phase expected to launch within the next quarter. Stakeholders from various government departments will convene to discuss the implementation strategy and address any potential challenges.
