Gas and Condensate Production Begins at Kherpur’s Batrism East-1 Well

KHERPUR: Gas and condensate production has officially commenced at the Batrism East-1 well in Kherpur, marking a significant development in Pakistan’s energy sector. The production began on October 15, 2023, following extensive drilling and testing operations conducted by Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL).

Officials from PPL announced that the well is expected to contribute substantially to the national energy supply, alleviating some of the pressures faced by the country’s energy demands. The initial output is projected to enhance local energy availability and support economic growth in the region.

This development is crucial for Pakistan, which has been grappling with energy shortages and rising import costs. The successful extraction of gas and condensate from the Batrism East-1 well could lead to increased energy independence and stability in the local market, potentially lowering energy prices for consumers.

Looking ahead, PPL plans to monitor the well’s output closely and explore further drilling opportunities in the area. The government is also expected to hold discussions on expanding energy infrastructure to maximize the benefits of this new production.
