QUETTA: Security forces neutralized a high-ranking commander belonging to the proscribed Fitna al-Khawarij group during a targeted Intelligence-Based Operation (IBO) conducted in Balochistan, military and security sources confirmed on Tuesday.

According to official details, the raid was executed after intelligence agencies tracked the movement of dangerous militants operating in the province. In the ensuing intense gun battle, the militant commander was gunned down, while a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosive materials was recovered from the site.

The eliminated commander was wanted by law enforcement agencies for his involvement in several high-profile attack operations targeting civilian infrastructure, state officials, and security personnel across the region.
