Balochistan Government Launches Vocational Training for Women in Quetta
QUETTA: The Balochistan government has initiated a Youth Vocational Skills Training Programme aimed at enhancing employment opportunities for young people, particularly women, in Quetta. Over 240 women have already enrolled in this program, which seeks to train more than 720 individuals in the city.
The initiative focuses on providing technical and vocational skills that align with contemporary industry demands. Officials from the Balochistan government emphasized the importance of empowering women through skill development, which is crucial for their economic independence and contribution to society.
This program is expected to have significant implications for the local economy by equipping the youth with necessary skills, thereby reducing unemployment rates and fostering a more skilled workforce. It represents a step towards addressing gender disparities in vocational training and employment.
Looking ahead, the Balochistan government plans to expand the program further, potentially introducing additional courses and partnerships with local industries to ensure that the training remains relevant and effective. The success of this initiative could serve as a model for similar programs across the region.
