Federal Government Approves Rs100 Billion for Key KP Infrastructure Projects

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa infrastructure projects

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has approved three significant infrastructure projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, totaling Rs100 billion, during a meeting of the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) on Monday.

Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal, who presided over the meeting, emphasized the government’s commitment to advancing development in the province. Among the approved projects is a Rs69.89 billion irrigation initiative aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity and improving rural livelihoods.

This decision comes in the wake of the imposition of emergency and governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with the federal government pledging to prioritize the province’s development alongside its ongoing efforts to combat terrorism.

Looking ahead, the government is expected to continue its focus on infrastructure improvements and agricultural enhancements, with further meetings planned to discuss additional projects and funding allocations.
