QUETTA: The Balochistan government has imposed a ban on gatherings in Pishin district as part of intensified operations against criminal activities, announced Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove on Monday. The decision follows a review of the security situation in the region, which has seen a surge in violence.

During a meeting attended by tribal elders, lawmakers, and senior police officials, Langove emphasized that ensuring the safety of citizens is the government’s top priority. The ban, enacted under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, aims to curb potential unrest and protect public safety.

This crackdown comes in the wake of escalating violence in the province, including the recent killings of two men in Jhal Magsi, bringing the death toll in that area to four. The bodies of the victims, identified as Maulvi Sadiq Abro and Liaquat Ali Abro, were discovered along a roadside, highlighting the urgent need for enhanced security measures.

As the government prepares to implement these operations, further meetings are expected to discuss strategies for maintaining peace and security in Pishin and surrounding areas. The local administration is under pressure to restore order and reassure the public amid rising fears of crime.
