Political and Military Leadership Agree to Keep Protests Away from Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: In a significant development, Rana Sanaullah, the advisor to the Prime Minister on political affairs, announced that the political and military leadership of Pakistan has reached a consensus that protests and long marches should be held away from the capital, Islamabad. This decision aims to maintain order and stability in the city.

During a press briefing on October 2, 2026, Sanaullah emphasized the need for dialogue with opposition parties to address political issues. He stated that the federal government, in collaboration with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), is committed to engaging in constructive discussions to resolve ongoing political tensions.

This agreement reflects a strategic move by the government to mitigate potential unrest and ensure that political demonstrations do not disrupt daily life in Islamabad. By relocating protests, the government aims to balance the right to assembly with the necessity of maintaining public order, which is crucial for the country’s stability.

Looking ahead, the government plans to initiate talks with opposition leaders to foster a more collaborative political environment. These discussions are expected to take place in the coming weeks, as the government seeks to address the concerns of various political factions while ensuring that public safety remains a priority.
