Salman Akram Raja Condemns Political Victimization of Noreen Niazi

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General and senior lawyer Salman Akram Raja on Tuesday strongly condemned the state action against Noreen Niazi, alleging that she is being targeted purely out of political vengeance and administrative high-handedness.

Speaking to media persons outside the court premises, Raja stated that the ruling coalition is resorting to punitive measures against female family members of political opposition leaders to exert undue moral and psychological pressure. He noted that registering multiple cases against political figures and their kin without concrete evidence is a clear violation of constitutional rights and basic human dignity.

The statement comes amidst an escalating political confrontation between the federal authorities and opposition parties in Pakistan. Human rights observers and legal experts have frequently raised serious concerns over the misuse of law enforcement machinery and the repeated filing of First Information Reports (FIRs) against opposition workers and leaders’ relatives across various jurisdictions.

Raja emphasized that the legal team is actively finalizing petitions to challenge the arbitrary actions in high court, seeking immediate protective bail and legal relief for Noreen Niazi while calling upon the judiciary to intervene and uphold the rule of law.
