IESCO Schedules Two-Day Power Outages for Development Projects
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has announced a two-day power shutdown across parts of Islamabad, Attock, and the GSO Circle on October 3 and 4, 2026. The outages are necessary to facilitate various development projects, including road widening, flyover and underpass construction, and the installation of new 11kV feeders.
IESCO officials stated that the planned outages are aimed at ensuring the safe relocation of electricity infrastructure to support these critical projects. The company emphasized that the shutdowns are essential for enhancing the overall power distribution network and improving service reliability for residents in the affected areas.
The scheduled outages may cause inconvenience to local residents and businesses, highlighting the ongoing challenges of balancing infrastructure development with the need for consistent power supply. As Islamabad continues to grow, such measures are crucial for accommodating the increasing demand for electricity and maintaining the integrity of the power grid.
Residents are advised to prepare for the outages by ensuring they have adequate supplies of water and food, as well as alternative power sources if necessary. IESCO has committed to minimizing disruption and will provide updates on the progress of the development projects and any changes to the outage schedule.
