Israeli Airstrikes in Gaza Kill Four, Including Teenager and Security Officer
GAZA CITY: Israeli airstrikes on Tuesday resulted in the deaths of at least four individuals in the Gaza Strip, including a member of Hamas’s security service and a 17-year-old girl. The strikes occurred amid ongoing tensions in the region, with the Israeli military stating they targeted military operatives in the area.
According to health officials at Nasser Hospital, three victims were pronounced dead upon arrival after an Israeli strike hit a tent sheltering displaced individuals west of Khan Yunis. The Hamas interior ministry confirmed that Mohammed Shalouf, a member of its internal security service, was killed in an airstrike in Al-Mawasi, also near Khan Yunis. The Israeli military did not provide further details on the operation.
In a separate incident, a teenage girl, identified as Rimas al-Madhoun, was killed when an Israeli drone struck a tent in a park in Gaza City, as reported by Gaza’s civil defense spokesman, Mahmoud Bassal. Al-Shifa hospital confirmed her death shortly after her arrival.
This escalation follows a ceasefire agreement brokered by the United States in October 2025, which has since been undermined by increased military actions. The ongoing violence raises concerns about the humanitarian situation in Gaza and the potential for further conflict in the region.
