Punjab Government Offers Free Scooter and Motorcycle Training for Women
LAHORE: In a significant move to empower women, the Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, is providing free training for women to ride scooters and motorcycles across the province. This initiative, launched by the City Traffic Police Lahore, aims to enhance women’s independence and mobility.
The training program is part of a broader mission to promote gender equality and self-sufficiency among women in Punjab. Chief Minister Sharif emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, “Empowering women through practical skills is essential for their autonomy and participation in society.” The program is expected to attract a large number of participants eager to gain driving skills.
This initiative not only supports women’s rights but also contributes to the local economy by increasing women’s participation in the workforce. By enabling women to navigate their communities independently, the government hopes to foster a more inclusive society where women can pursue various opportunities without reliance on others for transportation.
Looking ahead, the Punjab government plans to expand this program further, potentially introducing additional training sessions and workshops in other cities. The City Traffic Police is also exploring partnerships with local organizations to enhance outreach and support for women interested in this training.
