Nora Fatehi Court Statement

NEW DELHI: Bollywood actor and performer Nora Fatehi recorded her official statement before a Delhi court on Friday in connection with the high-profile Rs 200-crore extortion case, clarifying to the judiciary that she currently resides and works in India on a valid work visa. Appearing before the Rouse Avenue Court, the Canadian-born artist provided her testimony as part of the ongoing judicial proceedings overseen by an Additional Sessions Judge.

During the courtroom session, Fatehi detailed her professional background and legal status within the country, stressing her full compliance with Indian immigration regulations throughout her career in the Hindi film industry. According to Indian media reports, the court formally documented her deposition to further examine the financial trail and alleged contacts linked to the primary accused in the multi-crore extortion and money laundering probe.

The extensive financial probe revolves around allegations that jailed conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar operated an elaborate extortion scheme targeting prominent business figures and celebrities. Fatehi, who has previously been questioned on multiple occasions by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), reiterated that she had no involvement in any illegal activities and maintained that she was unware of the illicit origins of items associated with the primary suspect.

The Rouse Avenue Court has deferred further hearings in the matter to a subsequent date as judicial authorities continue reviewing witness statements and evidentiary records. Legal analysts note that testimonies from high-profile witnesses like Fatehi remain vital for the prosecution as it consolidates its criminal case against the main perpetrators involved in the extortion network.
