KARACHI: US Charge d’Affaires Natalie Baker and Balochistan Parliamentary Secretary Nawabzada Mir Muhammad Zarain Khan Magsi celebrated the completion of the US-funded Mehrgarh Museum on Saturday, marking a significant milestone in the preservation of Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage.

The museum, located in the ancient site of Mehrgarh, is designed to showcase the region’s archaeological treasures and promote awareness of its historical significance. In her remarks, Baker emphasized the importance of cultural exchange and the role of the museum in fostering understanding between the United States and Pakistan.

This initiative not only highlights the US commitment to supporting cultural preservation in Pakistan but also aims to enhance tourism and educational opportunities in Balochistan. The museum is expected to attract both local and international visitors, contributing to the region’s economy and cultural dialogue.

Looking ahead, local officials plan to organize a series of events and exhibitions at the museum to engage the community and promote its offerings. The successful completion of this project is seen as a stepping stone towards further collaboration between the US and Pakistan in cultural and educational sectors.
