Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari Defends Pakistan’s System Amid Development Claims

THARPARKAR: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Monday rejected assertions that the country’s governance system has collapsed, asserting that the ongoing development in Tharparkar exemplifies its success. Speaking at a ceremony to inaugurate Phase III of the Thar Coal Project’s Block II, Bilawal emphasized that the district’s progress is a testament to the effectiveness of the 1973 Constitution and the 18th Amendment.

Bilawal challenged critics who claim the system has failed, suggesting that they should allow the people of Tharparkar to take charge of Islamabad. “If we accept the narrative that the system has collapsed, it implies that Islamabad has failed. Hand it over to the people of Tharparkar; they will fix it,” he stated. His remarks come amid rising calls for the creation of new provinces and political restructuring.

The PPP leader also criticized a political party he referred to as comprising “political orphans,” accusing them of fostering division and hate in Karachi. “We will never let them succeed,” he declared, reinforcing his commitment to the party’s vision for unity and progress.

As the Thar Coal Project continues to develop, it is expected to play a significant role in addressing energy needs and boosting local economies. The PPP aims to leverage this success to strengthen its political narrative ahead of upcoming elections.
