PTA Educates Over 165 Universities on Internet Safety Regulations

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has briefed the heads of more than 165 universities on safe and responsible internet use, aiming to enhance awareness about online risks. This initiative is part of the PTA’s broader strategy to promote digital safety among educational institutions across the country.

The PTA conducted a series of awareness seminars and activities in collaboration with universities affiliated with the Higher Education Commission. According to a PTA document, these sessions are designed to equip university leaders with the necessary knowledge to foster a safer online environment for students and faculty alike.

This proactive approach by the PTA is crucial in an era where digital threats are increasingly prevalent. By educating university heads, the PTA aims to create a ripple effect, encouraging institutions to implement robust internet safety measures and ultimately protect students from potential online dangers.

Looking ahead, the PTA plans to expand its outreach efforts, potentially including workshops and training sessions for students and faculty members. This initiative underscores the authority’s commitment to ensuring that educational institutions are well-prepared to navigate the complexities of the digital landscape.
