PM Shehbaz Orders Third-Party Audit of National Highway Authority Projects

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed a comprehensive third-party audit of all ongoing projects managed by the National Highway Authority (NHA). This decision was made during a review meeting chaired by the Prime Minister, where the progress of development works on national highways, motorways, and expressways was assessed.

During the meeting, PM Sharif emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in government projects. He stated, “It is crucial that we ensure the effective use of public funds and maintain the highest standards of integrity in our infrastructure initiatives.” The audit aims to identify any discrepancies and enhance the efficiency of ongoing projects.

This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure while addressing public concerns regarding the management of state resources. Citizens are expected to benefit from enhanced road networks, which are vital for economic growth and connectivity across the country.

Following this directive, the NHA is expected to collaborate with independent auditing firms to initiate the audit process promptly. Further updates on the findings and subsequent actions will be communicated to the public in due course.
