Babar Azam Surrounded by Fans After Dismissal in President’s Trophy Match

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Test captain Babar Azam found himself in a frenzy of excitement as he exited the field following his dismissal for 21 runs on the opening day of the fourth round of the President’s Trophy Grade-I at the Diamond Cricket Ground on Wednesday.

Babar, who batted at number four for the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), faced 39 deliveries, striking four boundaries before being trapped leg before wicket by Afaq Afridi. OGDCL was bowled out for 196 runs in 50 overs, with notable contributions from Saad Khan (38), Niaz Khan (28), and Mohammad Hammad Khan (26). Shahid Aziz was the standout bowler for State Bank of Pakistan, claiming 4 wickets for 31 runs, while off-spinner Mubasir Khan took 3 for 24.

As Babar made his way back to the pavilion, he was swarmed by fans eager for photographs and selfies, leading to a chaotic scene that required intervention from ground staff to safely escort him to the dugout.
