Balochistan Government Launches Quetta Integrated Security Project

QUETTA: The Balochistan government has officially approved the Quetta Integrated Security Project, aimed at modernizing the province’s policing and security framework to enhance its response to terrorism and other security threats. The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti on Tuesday, where officials assessed the current security landscape and discussed necessary reforms.

During the meeting, it was revealed that the initiative will include the installation of 2,900 surveillance cameras across Quetta as part of the Quetta Green Digital Corridor project. Additionally, new Quick Response Force stations will be established to ensure swift action during emergencies. The integration of modern technology and a command-and-control system is expected to significantly bolster the operational capabilities of local security agencies.

This project is set to have far-reaching implications for the residents of Quetta, as it aims to create a safer environment by improving the efficiency of law enforcement agencies. Enhanced surveillance and rapid response capabilities are anticipated to deter criminal activities and provide a more secure atmosphere for citizens.

Looking ahead, the Balochistan government plans to implement further reforms within the police force, focusing on internal accountability and the adoption of advanced technologies. The next steps will involve detailed planning and execution phases to ensure the successful rollout of the security measures.
