Pakistan Conducts Targeted Air Strikes Against Terrorist Hideouts in Afghanistan
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has executed precise air strikes targeting terrorist hideouts in Afghanistan, as confirmed by Information Minister Ataullah Tarar on Thursday. The strikes are part of the ongoing Operation Ghazab lil Haq, aimed at dismantling terrorist networks and their supporters.
In a statement shared on X, Tarar emphasized that these “well-planned and calibrated” aerial operations were conducted based on credible intelligence. He noted that the strikes specifically targeted camps associated with the groups known as Fitna al Khwarij and Fitna al Hindustan, resulting in the elimination of multiple terrorists.
The term Fitna al Khwarij is used by the Pakistani state to refer to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), highlighting the government’s commitment to combatting terrorism within its borders and beyond. This military action underscores Pakistan’s resolve to address the growing threat posed by these groups, which have been linked to various attacks across the region.
Looking ahead, the Pakistani government is expected to continue its operations against terrorist elements, with further intelligence-led strikes likely in the coming weeks. This proactive stance may also influence regional security dynamics and Pakistan’s relations with Afghanistan, particularly in the context of counter-terrorism efforts.
