Pakistan Information Ministry Denies Claims of PAF Jets in Yemen Conflict
ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Information has categorically rejected a report alleging that Pakistan Air Force (PAF) jets are being deployed against Yemen’s Houthis, labeling the claims as “fake and fabricated.” The assertion originated from a New York Times article published on October 7, which cited an unnamed source suggesting that PAF aircraft were involved in the ongoing conflict between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia.
In response, the ministry took to social media platform X to dismiss the report, stating, “The NYT story attributing the employment of PAF aircraft against Houthis is fake and fabricated.” It further urged international media to refrain from speculative reporting regarding the deployment of Pakistan’s military forces under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, emphasizing that any necessary details would be provided by the relevant authorities.
This denial comes at a time of heightened tensions in the Middle East, where the conflict involving the Houthis has significant implications for regional stability and international relations. The ministry’s statement aims to clarify Pakistan’s position and prevent any misinterpretation of its military engagements.
Looking ahead, the Ministry of Information has indicated that it will continue to monitor media reports and provide accurate information as needed, ensuring that the narrative surrounding Pakistan’s military involvement remains clear and factual.
