Ignite Partners with Ex-P@SHA Chairman’s Firm Amid Governance Concerns

ISLAMABAD: Ignite, the National Technology Fund, has entered into a significant partnership with Excellence Delivered (ExD) on October 7, 2026, aimed at training 2,500 Pakistani youth in internationally recognized SAP certifications. This initiative also includes soft skills and language training, designed to cultivate an ‘export-ready’ workforce in Pakistan.

The collaboration has raised eyebrows regarding governance, particularly due to ExD’s connection with the former chairman of the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA). Critics argue that the deal could lead to conflicts of interest and question the transparency of the selection process for such a pivotal training program. An official from Ignite stated, ‘Our goal is to empower the youth with skills that meet global standards, but we must ensure that the processes are above board.’

This partnership is seen as a crucial step towards enhancing the employability of Pakistani youth in the global market, potentially boosting the country’s economy. However, the governance concerns could undermine public trust in such initiatives, which are essential for national development.

Moving forward, stakeholders are calling for a thorough review of the contract and its implications. Upcoming meetings between Ignite officials and independent governance experts are expected to address these concerns and ensure that the program is implemented with integrity.
