Failed SPSC Candidates March to Karachi Demanding Reforms and Inquiry

HYDERABAD: Unsuccessful candidates of the Sindh Public Service Commission’s (SPSC) Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024 commenced a march to Karachi on Friday, departing from their protest camp outside the commission’s office. The demonstrators are voicing their grievances over alleged irregularities in the CCE 2024 and other examinations.

The protesters are demanding a re-test of the CCE 2024, comprehensive reforms within the SPSC, the dismissal of the commission’s management by the government, and a judicial inquiry into the examination processes. They established their protest camp at Thandi Sarak 81 days ago following the announcement of the CCE 2024 results, which they claim were marred by discrepancies.

The march is being led by prominent figures from the Sindh Students Action Committee, including Zabiullah Mastoi, Wajahat Hingorjo, and Fakhar Zaman Khunharo. Their route will take them through Tando Muhammad Khan and Thatta, culminating in a protest outside the Chief Minister’s House in Karachi.

This mobilization highlights growing discontent among candidates regarding the transparency and fairness of public service examinations in Sindh. The outcome of this protest could influence future policies regarding recruitment and examination processes in the province, as well as the public’s trust in the SPSC.
