Finance Minister Urges Reforms in Global Financial System for Stability

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Mohammad Aurangzeb has called for urgent reforms in the global financial system to enhance economic stability and resilience. Speaking at a recent conference, he emphasized the need for collaborative efforts among nations to address the challenges posed by current economic disparities.

Aurangzeb highlighted that the existing financial framework often fails to accommodate the needs of developing countries, which are disproportionately affected by economic crises. He stated, “It is imperative that we work together to create a more equitable financial system that supports sustainable growth for all nations, especially those facing economic hardships. Our collective action is crucial for a stable global economy.”

The Minister’s remarks come at a time when Pakistan, like many other nations, grapples with economic challenges exacerbated by global inflation and supply chain disruptions. His call for reform is seen as a pivotal step towards fostering international cooperation and ensuring that financial systems are more inclusive and responsive to the needs of vulnerable economies.

Looking ahead, Aurangzeb announced plans for upcoming discussions with international financial institutions, including the International Monetary Fund (IMF), to advocate for these reforms. He expressed optimism that these dialogues would lead to actionable strategies aimed at reshaping the global financial landscape.
