Chinese Investment Helps Pakistan Tackle Energy Crisis, Says Ahsan Iqbal

ISLAMABAD: Ahsan Iqbal, Pakistan’s Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, announced that Chinese investment has played a crucial role in helping Pakistan address its ongoing energy crisis. During a press conference on Wednesday, Iqbal highlighted the significance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in enhancing the country’s energy infrastructure.

Iqbal stated that the influx of Chinese capital has not only bolstered energy production but has also improved the overall efficiency of the energy sector. He emphasized that projects under CPEC have been instrumental in reducing load shedding and stabilizing electricity supply across the nation.

This development is particularly significant for Pakistan, where energy shortages have long hampered economic growth and affected daily life for millions of citizens. The government’s efforts to attract foreign investment, especially from China, are seen as vital for achieving energy security and fostering economic stability.

Looking ahead, the government plans to continue its collaboration with Chinese firms to expand renewable energy projects and enhance energy efficiency. Upcoming meetings are scheduled to discuss further investments and the implementation of new energy initiatives aimed at ensuring a sustainable energy future for Pakistan.
