LAHORE: A rickshaw driver has been arrested for allegedly stealing a bag filled with cash from a woman following a dispute over fare charges. The incident occurred in the bustling area of Mazang, where the driver distracted the victim before making off with her valuables.

According to local police, the woman was engaged in a conversation with the driver regarding the fare when he seized the opportunity to snatch her bag, which contained a significant amount of currency. The Mazang police swiftly launched an investigation and apprehended the suspect shortly after the theft was reported.

This incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding safety and crime in urban areas of Pakistan, particularly in Lahore, where residents often face risks from petty thefts. Authorities are urging citizens to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to prevent such crimes.

As investigations continue, police are expected to enhance patrols in the area to deter similar incidents in the future. The case will also be reviewed for any potential links to organized crime.
