PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has dismissed the prospect of immediate political dialogue with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), taking a sharp swipe at the main opposition party by claiming it has fractured into “four distinct franchises.”

Addressing media representatives, the Governor questioned the credibility and decision-making structure of PTI’s current leadership hierarchy following persistent political deadlocks. “PTI currently operates like four different franchises, each pursuing its own separate agenda,” Kundi stated while addressing the political stalemate. “With whom should the government hold talks when there is no unified voice or recognized authority within their ranks?” He emphasized that structured negotiations require a coherent leadership team capable of making binding decisions.

The Governor’s remarks highlight escalating political friction in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where the PTI-led provincial administration remains locked in a bitter standoff with federal representatives and coalition parties. Political analysts note that conflicting statements from various PTI factions regarding dialogue with the federal government and establishment have created widespread confusion, effectively stalling serious efforts toward national political reconciliation.

Governor Kundi reiterated that the government remains committed to democratic discourse and constitutional harmony, but urged PTI leadership to first resolve its internal power struggles. The ongoing political impasse is expected to deepen administrative friction between the federation and the province unless a formal mechanism for cross-party communication is established in the coming weeks.
