Punjab Government Launches New Program for Women’s Empowerment with Monthly Stipend

Women's Empowerment Program

LAHORE: The Punjab government has initiated a new program aimed at empowering women aged 18 to 45 through vocational training and financial support. Under the ‘She Thread’ initiative, women will receive training in textile skills along with a monthly stipend of PKR 15,000.

Launched on the directives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, this program seeks to provide dignified employment opportunities for women in rural areas, enhancing their self-sufficiency and economic independence. The Women Development Department is overseeing the registration process, which has already begun.

This initiative is expected to significantly impact the lives of many women, enabling them to contribute to their households and communities. By focusing on textile training, the program aligns with the growing demand for skilled labor in Pakistan’s textile industry, which is a crucial sector for the national economy.

As the program unfolds, further details regarding training locations and schedules will be announced. The government aims to enroll a substantial number of participants, ensuring that women across Punjab can benefit from this opportunity.
