SWAT: Two police constables were arrested on Thursday in connection with the alleged gang rape of a woman who had traveled from Peshawar to Swat. The incident reportedly occurred when the victim and her husband were approached by the suspects while on their way to a hotel.

The woman lodged a complaint with local authorities, claiming that two unidentified motorcyclists sexually assaulted her. Following the report, Swat District Police Officer (DPO) Umar Khan ordered an immediate investigation, leading to the swift identification and arrest of the suspects through CCTV footage.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Wahid Mahmood from Alladand in Batkhela and Mohammad Ghazanfar from Chamkani in Peshawar, both of whom are serving as constables in the police force. Initial investigations suggest that the suspects took the couple to a hotel room where the assault occurred, threatening the victim with death should she disclose the incident.

Authorities have confirmed that both suspects are in custody for further investigation, and DPO Umar Khan emphasized the seriousness of the allegations against police personnel. This case raises significant concerns regarding the safety of citizens and the integrity of law enforcement in the region.
