Islamabad Traffic Police Extends Free Scooter Training Program for Women
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Traffic Police has announced an extension of its free scooter training program for women, responding to overwhelming demand. Originally scheduled from November 1 to 15, the program will now run from November 16 to 30, 2026, allowing more women to participate in this initiative aimed at enhancing road safety and mobility.
Officials from the Islamabad Traffic Police noted that the decision to extend the program comes after a significant response from women eager to learn how to ride scooters safely. The training sessions will cover essential skills, including traffic rules, safe riding techniques, and practical riding experience. “We are committed to empowering women by providing them with the skills necessary to navigate our roads safely,” said a spokesperson for the police.
This initiative not only promotes women’s independence but also contributes to reducing traffic congestion in the city. By encouraging more women to ride scooters, the program aims to foster a culture of safe and responsible driving, ultimately benefiting the broader community. The program aligns with the government’s efforts to enhance women’s participation in various sectors, including transportation.
Looking ahead, the Islamabad Traffic Police plans to evaluate the program’s impact and may consider further extensions or additional training sessions based on demand. Interested participants are encouraged to register early to secure their spots in this valuable training opportunity.
