Government Increases Loan Limit for Women to 25 Million Rupees
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani government has announced a significant increase in the loan limit for women under various schemes, raising it from 7.5 million to 25 million rupees. This decision was made during a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, where the Youth Business and Agriculture Loan Schemes were reviewed.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the importance of empowering women through financial support, stating that this initiative aims to enhance their participation in the economy. The increase in loan limits is expected to provide women entrepreneurs with greater access to capital, enabling them to start and expand their businesses.
This policy shift is seen as a crucial step towards fostering gender equality in Pakistan’s economic landscape. By facilitating easier access to loans, the government hopes to stimulate economic growth and create job opportunities, particularly in rural areas where women often face financial barriers.
Looking ahead, the government plans to monitor the implementation of these schemes closely and may introduce additional measures to further support women in business. Stakeholders are encouraged to participate in upcoming consultations to refine these initiatives.
