Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Faces Shortage of Over 10,500 Personnel: Haroon Bilour

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police shortage

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is grappling with a significant shortage of police personnel, with 10,587 vacancies reported, according to Haroon Bilour, a prominent provincial leader. This alarming deficit raises concerns about the province’s ability to maintain law and order amidst rising security challenges.

Bilour highlighted the issue during a recent press conference, emphasizing that the current police force is overstretched and unable to effectively combat crime and ensure public safety. He called for immediate government action to address the recruitment crisis, stating, “The safety of our citizens is at stake, and we cannot afford to delay in filling these critical positions.”

The shortage of police personnel not only hampers law enforcement efforts but also poses a threat to the overall security environment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. As crime rates continue to rise, the lack of adequate manpower could lead to increased public unrest and diminished trust in the police force.

In response to this pressing issue, Bilour urged the provincial government to expedite the recruitment process and allocate necessary resources for training new officers. He also suggested that community engagement initiatives could help bolster public confidence in the police. The provincial assembly is expected to discuss this matter in the upcoming session, with hopes of implementing effective solutions to enhance police capacity.
