Balochistan CM Bugti Advocates Political Dialogue for Provincial Issues
QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has asserted the necessity of resolving political issues through dialogue, emphasizing the provincial government’s commitment to engage with political stakeholders. Speaking at a special lecture hosted by the Islamabad Policy Research Institute, Bugti highlighted the importance of understanding Balochistan’s unique historical and social context.
Bugti clarified that while the government is open to negotiations, it will not engage with those who resort to violence or bloodshed. He reiterated that the state’s authority and the safety of its citizens are paramount and non-negotiable. His remarks come amid ongoing discussions about the province’s complex political landscape.
The Chief Minister pointed out that the challenges facing Balochistan cannot be addressed through fragmented narratives or isolated incidents. Instead, he called for a comprehensive approach that draws on authentic historical sources and documented evidence to inform policy decisions. This perspective is crucial for fostering sustainable solutions that encompass effective governance, meritocracy, and economic development.
Looking ahead, Bugti emphasized the need for political inclusion and opportunities for the youth, which he believes are essential for the province’s progress. As the government prepares for further discussions with various stakeholders, the focus will remain on creating an environment conducive to peace and development in Balochistan.
