Bilawal Bhutto Proposes Handing Over Islamabad to Thar for Revival

MITHI: Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has suggested that if Islamabad has failed, it should be handed over to Tharparkar, asserting that his party can restore its functionality. Speaking at an event in Tharparkar on October 5, 2026, Bhutto emphasized the need for effective governance in the capital.

During his address, Bhutto criticized the current administration, claiming that the challenges facing Islamabad require urgent and innovative solutions. He expressed confidence in the capabilities of the Pakistan Peoples Party to address these issues, stating, ‘If Islamabad has become ineffective, we can fix it by focusing on the needs of the people.’

This statement comes amid growing concerns over governance and public service delivery in Pakistan’s capital. Citizens have expressed frustration over the lack of basic amenities and effective leadership, which has led to calls for political accountability and reform. Bhutto’s remarks highlight the ongoing political discourse surrounding governance in Pakistan and the role of regional leaders in national politics.

Looking ahead, the Pakistan Peoples Party plans to intensify its outreach in urban areas, aiming to connect with voters and address their grievances. Upcoming rallies and community engagement initiatives are expected as the party seeks to bolster its presence in Islamabad and beyond.
