BISP Launches Nationwide Campaign for Women’s Digital Payment Access
ISLAMABAD: The Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) has initiated a nationwide awareness and training campaign aimed at empowering women beneficiaries with its new digital payment system. This initiative allows beneficiaries to collect their payments from any authorized retailer of partner banks across Pakistan upon receiving a confirmation SMS.
Additional Secretary of BISP, Dr. Asmat Nawaz, emphasized the importance of this program during a recent briefing, stating that the digital payment system is designed to enhance accessibility and convenience for women, who are often the primary caregivers in their households. The campaign will include training sessions and informational materials to ensure that beneficiaries understand how to utilize the new system effectively.
This development marks a significant step towards financial inclusion for women in Pakistan, a country where economic participation among women remains low. By facilitating easier access to financial resources, the BISP aims to empower women, improve their economic standing, and contribute to the overall economic growth of the nation.
Looking ahead, BISP plans to expand its outreach efforts, with additional training sessions scheduled in various regions to ensure that all beneficiaries are well-informed about the digital payment process. The program is expected to roll out further enhancements in the coming months to streamline operations and improve user experience.
