Citi Pharma Secures CCP Approval for Acquisition of Pakheim International Pharma

KARACHI: Citi Pharma Limited (CPHL) has received the green light from the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) to acquire 100% of Pakheim International Pharma (Private) Limited. The approval was granted on October 9, 2026, as per a filing made to the Pakistan Stock Exchange on Monday.

The CCP’s order, documented in Case No. 1614/Merger-CCP/2026, is a significant step for Citi Pharma as it seeks to expand its footprint in the pharmaceutical sector. The approval was issued under Section 31(1)(d)(i) of the Competition Act, which aims to promote fair competition and prevent monopolistic practices.

This acquisition is poised to enhance Citi Pharma’s product offerings and market share, potentially leading to increased competition in the pharmaceutical industry. Analysts suggest that the merger could result in improved efficiencies and innovation, benefiting consumers through better access to a wider range of pharmaceutical products.

Moving forward, Citi Pharma is expected to finalize the acquisition process and integrate Pakheim’s operations into its existing framework. Stakeholders will be closely monitoring the developments as the company prepares for the next phase of its growth strategy.
