Defense Minister Claims Overseas YouTubers Are PTI’s Biggest Adversaries

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Defense Khawaja Asif asserts that YouTubers based abroad are the primary adversaries of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, accusing them of merely printing money through their online activities.

In a statement shared on the social media platform X, Asif emphasized that these overseas YouTubers are not contributing positively to the political discourse in Pakistan but are instead focused on generating revenue at the expense of the country’s political stability.

This statement highlights the growing concern among Pakistani officials regarding the influence of social media on public opinion and political narratives. Asif’s remarks come amid ongoing tensions between the government and PTI, suggesting that the latter’s challenges are exacerbated by external voices that may not fully understand the local context.

Looking ahead, the government may consider implementing regulations to address the impact of foreign influencers on domestic politics. As discussions continue, the role of social media in shaping political landscapes will likely remain a contentious issue.
