ISLAMABAD: The federal government has officially approved the Karachi Industrial Park as a Special Economic Zone (SEZ). This decision was made during the 11th meeting of the Board of Approvals for Special Economic Zones, chaired by the Finance Minister.
The Karachi Industrial Park is expected to enhance industrial investment focused on exports, providing a significant boost to the local economy. Officials highlighted that this initiative aims to attract foreign and domestic investors, thereby creating job opportunities and fostering economic growth.
This approval is a crucial step towards revitalizing Pakistan’s industrial sector, which has faced numerous challenges in recent years. By establishing the Karachi Industrial Park as an SEZ, the government aims to streamline regulatory processes and offer incentives that could lead to increased production and export capacity.
