KARACHI: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration personnel stationed at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi have intercepted and arrested a suspected Afghan national attempting to board an international flight to Australia using fraudulent travel documents and a spouse-sponsored visa.

According to official sources, the suspect was attempting to travel to Australia on an entry visa sponsored by his Australian wife. However, during primary immigration clearance, vigilant officials detected severe discrepancies in his passport details, travel history, and national identification credentials. Initial biometric and documentary verification revealed that the suspect had allegedly forged documentation to obscure his original nationality and bypass international travel protocols.

Border control authorities across major Pakistani airports have recently intensified security measures and surveillance against human trafficking rings and document forgery syndicates. Federal officials emphasized that stringent verification processes are being actively enforced to stop foreign nationals from utilizing forged identity cards and altered travel papers to gain unauthorized transit to third countries.

Following his detention at the departure terminal, the suspect was handed over to the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Karachi for further interrogation and legal action. Authorities confirmed that a formal case has been registered, with investigations expanded to unveil the network of facilitators and agents responsible for synthesizing the counterfeit documentation.
