Four Injured Pakistanis Depart from Addis Ababa Airport After Piracy Attack

KARACHI: Four injured Pakistani crew members have been flown back to Karachi from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, following a tragic incident where their colleagues were killed in a piracy attack off the coast of Somalia.

The deceased and the injured were part of the crew aboard the vessel ‘MT Honor 25’, which was reportedly targeted by pirates. The bodies of the deceased were also repatriated alongside the injured crew. Eyewitness footage aired by ARY News captured the emotional scenes at the airport as the injured were seen preparing for their return home.

This incident raises serious concerns about the safety of maritime operations in the region, particularly for Pakistani nationals working in international waters. The government is under pressure to enhance security measures for its citizens employed in high-risk areas.

Authorities are expected to conduct a thorough investigation into the piracy incident, with calls for increased naval patrols and international cooperation to combat piracy in the Gulf of Aden. Families of the victims are seeking justice and support from the government.
