Government’s Stance Leaves No Room for Future Negotiations: Fazl-ur-Rehman

ISLAMABAD: Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman, the head of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), stated on October 6, 2026, that the government’s current attitude has eliminated any possibility for future negotiations. Speaking to the media after a meeting with opposition leaders at his residence, he expressed deep concerns over the prevailing political instability in the country.

Fazl-ur-Rehman criticized the government’s approach, asserting that it has created a significant imbalance in the political landscape. He emphasized that the lack of dialogue and cooperation from the ruling party has left the opposition with no choice but to reconsider their strategies moving forward. “The government’s behavior has made it clear that they are not interested in constructive discussions,” he remarked.

This development poses serious implications for Pakistan’s political environment, as it may lead to increased tensions between the government and opposition parties. Citizens could face further uncertainty as political deadlock may hinder legislative processes and governance, impacting essential services and economic stability.

Looking ahead, political analysts suggest that the opposition may seek alternative methods to voice their concerns, including public demonstrations or seeking support from civil society. The coming weeks will be crucial as both sides navigate this challenging political landscape.
