Governor’s Rule to End in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Provincial Government to Resume
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tarik Fazal Choudhry announced that the Governor’s Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will constitutionally end in six months, allowing the provincial government to resume its functions.
During an appearance on ARY News’ program ‘On My Radar’, Choudhry stated that the entire province is currently under Governor’s Rule and emergency measures. He emphasized the need for a return to normalcy and governance by elected representatives.
This development is significant for the citizens of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as the resumption of the provincial government is expected to restore democratic processes and address pressing local issues. The end of emergency rule may also lead to improved governance and public services.
Looking ahead, the federal government is expected to outline a roadmap for the transition back to provincial governance, including potential meetings with local leaders and stakeholders to ensure a smooth handover.
