Govt Expands National AI Skills Program to Empower Rural Communities

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) has announced an ambitious initiative to expand the National AI Skills Program, aiming to provide artificial intelligence training to individuals in rural and remote areas across Pakistan. This program is set to enhance digital literacy and equip citizens with essential skills for the evolving job market.

In a statement, the MoITT emphasized the importance of bridging the digital divide, stating, “By extending AI training to underserved regions, we are not only fostering innovation but also empowering our youth to participate in the global digital economy.” The program will include workshops, online courses, and hands-on training sessions tailored to the needs of local communities.

This initiative is expected to have significant implications for the economy, as it seeks to create a skilled workforce capable of contributing to various sectors, including technology, agriculture, and services. Experts believe that enhancing AI capabilities in rural areas will stimulate local economies and reduce unemployment rates.

Looking ahead, the MoITT plans to collaborate with local educational institutions and NGOs to implement the training sessions. The first phase of the program is expected to launch within the next quarter, with further details on locations and enrollment procedures to be announced shortly.
