Hundreds of LLB Degrees Declared Fake at Shah Abdul Latif University

SUKKUR: Shah Abdul Latif University has declared hundreds of its LLB degrees as fraudulent following a thorough investigation. On October 17, 2026, the university administration, under the directive of Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, announced that out of 1,225 LLB degrees scrutinized, 1,184 were found to be fake.

The scrutiny committee was established to address concerns regarding the authenticity of the degrees issued by the university. Chief Minister Shah emphasized the importance of maintaining educational integrity and vowed to take strict action against those involved in the issuance of these fraudulent degrees.

This revelation raises significant concerns about the quality of legal education in Pakistan and the potential implications for the legal profession. Graduates holding these degrees may face challenges in their careers, undermining public trust in the legal system.

Moving forward, the Sindh government plans to conduct further investigations into the matter and implement stricter regulations to prevent such incidents in the future. The university is expected to hold meetings with stakeholders to discuss the ramifications and necessary reforms.
