Hyderabad Family Alleges Organ Removal During Autopsy of Traffic Victim

HYDERABAD: The bereaved family of a young girl who tragically lost her life in a road accident in Hyderabad has leveled serious allegations against hospital authorities, claiming that her internal organs were illegally harvested during a post-mortem examination at a government health facility on Tuesday.

The deceased girl had sustained fatal injuries during a severe traffic collision on a prominent road in the city before being rushed to the hospital emergency ward, where medical personnel pronounced her dead upon arrival. Following standard legal protocols for fatal road accidents, the body was transferred to the mortuary for an autopsy. However, her relatives asserted that upon receiving the body for burial, they discovered suspicious surgical marks indicating organs had been extracted without their knowledge or consent.

The disturbing accusations have reignited intense public scrutiny over forensic practices, medical ethics, and oversight within state-run health facilities across Sindh province. Human rights advocates and legal experts emphasized that stringent supervisory mechanisms are urgently required to ensure administrative transparency and strict compliance with legal frameworks governing organ donation and autopsy procedures.

In response to the family’s protest and growing public outrage, district administration officials and hospital management announced that a formal inquiry committee would be constituted to examine the forensic procedures, review hospital records, and determine the veracity of the family’s claims, promising stern legal action if any criminal misconduct or negligence is uncovered.
