Illegal Call Center Raided, Suspects Remanded to NCCIA for Six Days

ISLAMABAD: Authorities have conducted a significant raid on an illegal call center, resulting in the arrest of multiple suspects who are now in custody for six days under the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NCCIA).

The operation took place on Tuesday, where law enforcement officials uncovered a sophisticated network operating without proper licenses. An official from the NCCIA stated, “This operation is part of our ongoing efforts to combat cyber crime and illegal activities that undermine the economy and security of the nation.” The suspects are believed to have been involved in various fraudulent activities targeting both local and international victims.

This crackdown highlights the increasing concern over cyber crimes in Pakistan, which have been on the rise in recent years. Experts warn that such illegal operations not only defraud individuals but also tarnish the country’s reputation in the global market, potentially deterring foreign investment.

Moving forward, the NCCIA plans to intensify its investigations into similar operations across the country. Authorities are expected to hold further briefings to update the public on the progress of this case and any additional measures being implemented to enhance cybersecurity.
