F-9 Park upgrade

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi assured residents on Sunday that the planned upgradation of F-9 Park, also known as Fatima Jinnah Park, will not involve cutting down a single tree. His commitment comes in response to community concerns about preserving the park’s greenery amidst development plans.

In a post shared on X, Naqvi highlighted a resident’s request for more greenery rather than concrete structures during the park’s development. He acknowledged the park’s significance to the local community and emphasized, “Let me make it absolutely clear that not a single tree will be cut, 100 per cent guaranteed.” He further assured that there would be “no new concrete structures” added to the park.

This announcement is expected to alleviate concerns among Islamabad residents who cherish the park as a vital green space in the city. The commitment to preserve the park’s natural environment aligns with growing public demand for sustainable urban development practices that prioritize ecological integrity.

Moving forward, the government plans to engage with community stakeholders to finalize the development plans for F-9 Park, ensuring that the upgrade enhances the park’s recreational value while maintaining its lush landscape.
