ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met with Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong on Sunday to review the progress of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and reaffirm the strong bilateral ties between the two nations, according to a statement from the Foreign Office.

During their meeting in Islamabad, Dar commended the ongoing expansion of the “all-weather strategic cooperative partnership” that characterizes Pakistan-China relations. The discussions encompassed key areas such as trade, investment, regional connectivity, agricultural modernization, and enhancing people-to-people exchanges.

Dar highlighted the importance of sustained high-level engagements to foster what officials describe as a “Pakistan-China Community of Shared Future in the New Era.” The meeting also addressed recent regional developments, with both officials emphasizing that ongoing dialogue and diplomacy are crucial for achieving long-term peace and stability in the region.

This meeting comes as both countries aim to accelerate the second phase of CPEC, which is shifting its focus towards industrialization, technology, and export-led growth. Future engagements are expected to further solidify this partnership and address emerging challenges.
