Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faces Terrorism Blame from Khawaja Asif Amid Political Tensions

ISLAMABAD: Khawaja Asif, Pakistan’s Defense Minister, has accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party of bringing terrorism to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, intensifying the ongoing political discourse surrounding security issues in the region.

During a recent press conference, Asif stated that the rise in terrorist activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is directly linked to the policies and governance of the PTI, led by former Prime Minister Imran Khan. He emphasized the need for accountability and a thorough investigation into the circumstances that have allowed such violence to proliferate.

This assertion comes at a time when the government is under pressure to address rising security concerns, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which has seen a resurgence of militant activity. Asif’s comments reflect broader anxieties among citizens regarding their safety and the effectiveness of current governance in combating terrorism.

Looking ahead, the government plans to convene a security summit to discuss strategies for countering terrorism and enhancing law enforcement capabilities in the province. This meeting aims to bring together key stakeholders, including provincial leaders and security experts, to formulate a comprehensive action plan.
