Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Urges FixIt to Provide 11,000 Manhole Covers
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faizal Karim Kundi has called on the FixIt initiative to supply 11,000 manhole covers needed in Peshawar. During a visit to the under-construction Jamil Chowk Underpass on November 6, 2026, Kundi emphasized the urgency of addressing the city’s infrastructure needs.
“We require these covers to ensure the safety and functionality of our urban spaces,” Kundi stated, highlighting the critical role of proper infrastructure in urban development. The governor’s remarks come as Peshawar faces increasing challenges related to urban planning and public safety.
This initiative is expected to significantly enhance the safety of pedestrians and vehicles alike, reducing the risk of accidents associated with open manholes. The governor’s appeal to FixIt underscores the ongoing efforts to improve civic amenities in the province, which has been a focal point of local governance.
Looking ahead, the provincial government plans to coordinate with FixIt and other stakeholders to expedite the procurement and installation of these manhole covers. Further discussions are anticipated in upcoming meetings to ensure timely delivery and implementation of this essential infrastructure project.
